Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEVE ANTYMIS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and gigi, Steve Antymis, at home on Tuesday, November 14, 2000. Steve was born in Brokenhead, Manitoba on February 2, 1916, one of four children. He married Pearl Bendera in 1940 and together they had five children, Gerald, Sharyn, Eugene, Therese and Neil. Steve was a quiet humble man with a straight forward approach to life. As a young man he worked on harvesting teams and in the winter, at bush camps or at the paper mill in Pine Falls. He farmed in Thalberg for many years and then worked at The Milner Ridge Base until he retired in Beausejour in 1981. He enjoyed lifes simple pleasures - a good joke, a game of cards, gardening and watching the birds. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Church and the Knights of Columbus. He taught his children the value of faith, hard work and dedication to family. He lived through hard times but his stories always showed his fondness for farming. In later years, Steve was at the center of many family get-togethers and he always had a big smile when family and friends came to visit. He was keenly interested in the lives and activities of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Pearl; his children, Gerald (Alexis), Eugene (Jennifer), Therese (Peter) Kozak and Neil (Leslie) son-in-law Allan Witzke; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Ann Nickel, Alice (Eddy) Cronk; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was predeceased by his daughter Sharyn; his parents, Gregory and Mary and his brother John. Prayers will be held on Friday, November 17, at 7:30 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. E. Beausejour. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 18, at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, 823 Park Ave. Beausejour, by Rev. Fr. John Sholdak. Interment will follow at the Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Steves memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St. Winnipeg, Man.
