She was predeceased by her following little angels: her daughter Patricia; her son Eduardo Alexis; and her twin daughters; her father-in-law Fernando Plaza Osorio; her mother Mercedes Saavedra de Valenzuela; her father Exequiel Valenzuela Martinez, who she now joins in Heaven. Pilar, as she was normally called by her dearest friends, was born on December 12, 1939 in Santiago, Chile. She was a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She had a zest for life, loved children, and came to the aid of the less fortunate. She came to Canada with her husband, her son and her two daughters, on November 23, 1976 leaving all her relatives, family and friends. She persevered and never lost hope or faith in the challenges that she had to face in raising her family in her new home in Canada. Her humour and wit was unprecedented, and it was her calling card and with it, she touched many hearts with her added charm and warmth, and was dearly loved by all who knew her , and will always be remembered in our hearts, especially by her 9 grandchildren. We thank you for the wonderful years you gave us! She will be dearly missed by her husband of 41 years; by her son Christian Plaza, daughter-in-law Rosario Plaza, grandson Christopher Plaza (age 18), grandson Alexander Plaza (age 6). By her daughter Karen I. C. Navarro, son-in-law Carlos O. Navarro, grandson Kevin C. Navarro (age 13), grandson Carlos B. Navarro (age 11), grandson Antonnyo A. Navarro (age 3). By her daughter Sandra Navarro, son-in-law Luis M. Navarro, granddaughter Veronica Navarro (age 13), grandson Jamie Navarro (age 12), granddaughter Chantelle Navarro (age 11), grandson Steven Navarro (age 6). By her relatives in Chile, her brother Mario; sisters, Laura, Yolanda, Julia and brother-in-laws, Luis Fuentes, Daniel Rivera, Juan Armijo, many nephews and nieces. She will be sadly missed by her closest friends too numerous to mention, by the Chilean/Latin and Canadian Community. The family extends their invitation to friends and the community to join us in our moment of sorrow and to give our proper goodbyes. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 18, at 1:00 p.m. in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. To fulfill her wishes the family will bring her into the arms of family, relatives, and friends who await her arrival in the place of her birth and motherland, Santiago, Chile, where they will bear witness in her rejoining her loving parents, sons and daughters. Funeral services and burial will conclude in Santiago, Chile, Funeraria La Central, Urmeneta, 488 San Bernardo, Santiago, CHILE, Tel 859-2157, Fax 858-2712.
