GRACE POLLY MONKMAN (nee KIRBY) June 30, 1924 - November 13, 2000 It is with great sadness that we announce, that on Monday, November 13, 2000 at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Grace Monkman (nee Kirby) aged 76 years, passed away with her family at her side. Grace is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Lawrence; her children, Peter (Helen), Paul (Carol), Thelma (Ron), Hector (Pauline), Doreen (Ricky), Edward (Brenda), Elvis (Julie), Wayne (Donna) and Benny; daughter-in-law Alice; 34 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, her sister Blanche (Gordon) brother Jim (Marge). She is predeceased by her son Elmer in 1999. Grace loved to go fishing and camping. She would spend numerous hours doing both if she could. Other favourite hobbies were gardening, reading western books and doing jigsaw puzzles. Family and friends may pay their respects at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17 at the Arnason Funeral Home in Lundar. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18 in the Lundar Legion Hall, with Rev. Father Ernest Kamath officiating. Interment to follow at the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service at the hall. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Eugene, Rodney, Derek, Dean, Richard, Daniel, Stephen and Pete. Honorary Pallbearers will be all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Ward, Dr. Raath and the staff at the Eriksdale Hospital for the wonderful care they gave our mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 9Z9. Arrangements by: Arnason Funeral Homes Ltd.
