HARRY OWCZAR Harry Owczar, loving husband, father, Gege and brother passed away suddenly at home on November 13, 2000. Harry was born in Winnipeg on May 14, 1931. Along with his loving wife Florence of 47 years, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children Larry (Joanne), Karen (George), Kathy (Howie) Kevin (Natalie), Kim (Kevin), Chris (Lisa) and 13 grandchildren, Cassandra, Kristian, Kathy-Leigh, Lindsay, Michael, Kerri, Brenna, Jenna, Alyssa, Bradley, Noah, Paige, Gabrial; his sisters Ruby (Ron) Merrison, Bernice Robinson, Evelyn Koziki; his special sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pat and Stu Cameron and their families and many more nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Odette, and his sister Helen Hoski. Starting as a redcap with the CPR in his teenage years, Harry continued his career with the CPR as a switchman, yardmaster, trainer and conductor until his retirement in 1993. During his many years with the railroad, "Harry-O" gained the respect and friendship of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Following his retirement from the CPR, Harry enjoyed working part-time at Riverview Health Centre. A true family man, Harry enjoyed many summers with family and friends at Mordens Meadows. Thanks to Dr. A. Shah; Dr. E. Pascoe; staff of Emergency, SICU and CVT at SBGH; the WAS; staff of Emergency and Chaplain Jane Best at VGH. Funeral service will be held at St. Marks Church, 19 St. Marks Place on Thursday, November 16th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald Street.
