June 5, 1926 - November 5, 2000 It is with great sadness that we, the Gregorio family announce the sudden passing of our dearly beloved father, Lolo, great-grandfather "Papa" Alberto Gregorio Sr. at the Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, November 5, 2000, at the age of 74 years, formerly of Moncada, Tarlac, Philippines. Papa left us to mourn, his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Estelita Gregorio and his children, Jasmin (Ed) Villamar, Miriam (Rey) Mogatas, of Winnipeg, Gloria (Villarico) Galasi, Alberto Jr. (Elvira), Angelie (Henry) Pascua of Philippines, Lourdes (Leo) Cabading of Ottawa; grandchildren, Aileen (Rey), Gladys (Ray), Marifa, Jay-AR, Ryan Jay, Alleen Rey, Wendell Jigger, Alvin, Albert III, Glaiza, Jeslie, John Paul, Angelica, Isabel, Marvin Gay, Rommel Jay from the Philippines, Edward Jay II (Jennifer), Jeunelle Vonne, Rheymir John, Reynalyn Maryanne, Edjee Lyle of Winnipeg; great-grandchildren, Edward Taveesak III, Allen, many nieces, nephews, relatives, many friends here in Winnipeg, Canada, the US and the Philippines. His parents, Venancio and Genoveva; two brothers and two sisters predeceased him; hes the 2nd child of nine children all in the Philippines. Papa will be lovingly remembered by his gentle, very caring, peaceful, understanding nature. He served in the Philippine Army for 33 years. Papa immigrated to Winnipeg, 19 years ago. He worked diligently at Polycast Industry for ten years. He loves fishing, gardening, going for long drives during summer time. Papa is quite a handyman, especially tinkering electronics gadgets like radios, etc. Papa had been a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law and great-grandfather who gave his all for the sake of his familys welfare. He was actively involved and member of Peaceful Association of Winnipeg, UFCSAM, FVAW, LUNEAW. Our family wishes to thank our very close friends and the doctors and nursing staff of the Health Sciences Centre for their valiant efforts in trying to save our "Papa". Viewing (Lamay) will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 18 and 19, 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Prayers will be said on both days at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patricks R.C. Church, 168 Worth St., Winnipeg with Rev. Fr. Marc Monforton O.M.I. presiding. TIME AND DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE LAMAY. Pallbearers are Philip Pascual, Roy Fajardo, Ding Osis, Ruben Veniegas, Kuyet De La Cruz and Ben Lucero. Interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens (south of Royal Canadian Mint).
