AGNES MCRAE 1926 - 2000 Peacefully on November 11, 2000 at the age of 74, Mum passed away at her home at River East Personal Care Home, surrounded by the love of her family, friends and her extended family of River East Personal Care Home. Mum was born and raised in the Wellwood area, married Frank McRae and raised their three daughters, Linda, Jean and Bonnie on a farm north of Wellwood. She enjoyed life on the farm, always working hard gardening, cooking, canning and took great pleasure in cleaning her home and welcoming family, friend and neighbours into her home for special gatherings and card games. She was a dedicated curling fan watching curling any chance she had and in her earlier years at our local rink in Wellwood. She was a member of the Zion Guild and the Womens Legion Auxiliary in Carberry. She worked at Caldwells and Wardells store as a clerk in the village of Wellwood. For many years Mum worked at Carnation Foods where she made many friends and on retirement in 1979 she moved in to Winnipeg and enjoyed her retirement by travelling with seniors groups and attending many seniors functions in the apartment complex she lived in. She enjoyed many special trips to the West Coast and points in the United States with her sisters, Margaret and Bella. Mums main focus on life was always her family and took great pride in all of her grandchildren always willing to listen to all, and help them with all the challenges they face during their lives. She was the most kind and giving part of our family and tried to teach each one of us how important this was to our family values. Mum leaves to mourn her daughter Linda (Steini) Jonasson; grandson Allan (Dori) Brendan and Britt-Lee, grandson Rob; daughter Jean (Gary) Outhwaite, granddaughter Amanda (Shawn) and Kyra; daughter Bonnie Vidnes, grandsons, Rob and son Ricky, grandson Cory, granddaughters, Tracy (Lawrence) and sons, Ben, Jordyn and Joshua, Tammy (Wyatt) and children, Conrad, Adam and Desiree. Sister Margaret; brother Bob (Winnie) sisters-in-law, Emma and Joyce, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Words cannot express all the love, compassion, hugs and care Mum and all of her family received from all the staff, residents, volunteers and other families at River East Personal Care Home. For this we are gratefully thankful. Thank you to Rev. Fulford of Grey Street United Church, to all of our friends and co-workers for their calls, visits and gifts of flower and food. At Mums request cremation has taken place and a private family service and interment at her final place of rest in Carberry Cemetery in Carberry, Man. will be held at at later date. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully excepted at River East Personal Care Home, 1375 Molson Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2K 4K8.
