JOHN WARYWODA After a long battle with cancer, John is now deservingly resting in peace. He passed away on November 16, 2000, at the Palliative Ward, St. Boniface General Hospital. John was predeceased by his wife Sophia in January 1981 and his daughter-in-law Wendy Warywoda in January 1996. He leaves behind son Walter and friend Linda; daughter Anna and husband Tony and grandson Marc Zienkiewicz; also longtime best friend and caregiver Julianna Drafi, all of Winnipeg, and a sister in New York. John came to Canada in 1950 from England and resided in Transcona, where he worked for the City of Winnipeg Public Works Dept. until his retirement in 1983. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 21, at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service to follow on Wednesday, November 22, at 10:30 a.m. also at the chapel with Chaplain Paul Martin officiating. Interment at Transcona Cemetery. We would like at this time to thank all the doctors and staff at the Palliative Care Ward at the St. Boniface Hospital for their warm wishes and excellent care given to John in the last three weeks. Flowers graciously declined, but if one wishes, a memorial donation to ones favourite charity can be made in Johns name. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
