RUDY NIESSEN Rudy Niessen of Kelowna, B.C., beloved husband, father and son passed away in Kelowna on November 16, 2000 at the age of 56 years. Survived by his wife Roma; sons, James (Teresa) of Winnipeg, Jared (Rachel) of Grand Cayman; daughter Jana of Kelowna; three grandsons, Adam, Nicholas and Scot; mother Anna Niessen; parents-in-law, David and Kathleen Klassen; sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Ron Neufeld, and nephews, Christopher and Daniel Neufeld all of Winnipeg. Rudy was predeceased by his father Jakob Niessen. Rudy was active in the building industry and well respected, receiving various housing awards during his lifetime. Rudy loved the Lord and His Church and was active in many facets of the Mennonite community. He was also a founding member of the Winnipeg Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. A memorial service was held in Kelowna, November 18 at Trinity Baptist Church. Funeral service in Winnipeg will be held on Saturday, November 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church, 926 Garfield Street North at Sargent with interment in Springstein Cemetery. Viewing at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee or Habitat for Humanity.
