Frieda was born on September 14, 1918 in Landestreu Galicia, Poland and was married on February 21, 1939. She suffered great hardships during the Second World War and immigrated to Canada in 1948. Frieda contributed to the financial success of the family farm by her skills as a baker at the Roblin Bakery from 1949 to 1962. The family farmed in the Zorra district from 1951 to 1966, when the couple moved to Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Frieda again utilized her special talents as a baker at Harrys Dutch Bakery from 1966 until her retirement in 1980. For years gardening, crocheting, embroidering and knitting provided Frieda with much enjoyment and relaxation. Visits from her very special granddaughters were a great joy and delight for to her. Frieda moved back to Winnipeg in 1995 to be closer to her family. Special thanks to the residents of Arms of the Cross Lutheran Home, who provided her with much joy in her final years. Funeral services were held November 17, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Internment took place at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens following service.
