Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE MILNER HAWKING Marjorie Milner Hawking died peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2000 in the Tri-Lake Health Centre, Killarney, MB, from complications of Parkinson disease. She was 92 years old. Marj was born April 6, 1908, the youngest daughter of Robert F. and Hannah Medley Chapman of Ninga. She is predeceased by four sisters, Edna Robson, Laura Fitzpatrick, Kay Chapman and Naome Hunt, and two brothers, Harry and Marril Chapman. Marj married Elbern Hawking March 14, 1929. They farmed south of Ninga until 1962 when they retired to Killarney. Eb died in 1991 of Alziemer disease. Among their survivors are two daughters and their families; daughter Donna and husband Jim Green of Killarney, and their family, Don and Yasmin, Brad and Petra, Terra-lee and Mark Kralkay, Alison and Fred Portigal; daughter Joan and husband Morley Harper of St. Louis, Missouri, and their family, Greg and Laurie, Brent and Rosa. Also surviving are ten great-grandchildren, Jennette, Jason Ilja, Alana, Lindsey, Taylor, Devin, Jennifer, Michael and Gregory. Marj was a life long member and active participant of the United Church. She enjoyed writing and volunteer work. Marj was selected for the Premiers Volunteer Service Award in 1992 and for Canadian Living Magazines Contest in 1998 for her article on "Killarney - The Best Retirement Town in Manitoba". A Memorial Service will be held at the United Church of Killarney on Wednesday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the United Church in Killarney.
