WILBUR GEORGE HEAD Wilbur George Head passed away November 16, 2000 at Lady Minto Hospital, Saltspring Island, B.C. Predeceased by his wife Evolda in 1996, he is survived by his son Barry (Morna) of Saltspring Island, son Wayne (Doreen) of Calgary and by his daughter Sandra (Raimund Stamm) of Vernon, as wsell as grandchildren, Warren Head, Teri Carr, Janis Legere, David Head and Gina Head, all of Calgary and five great-grandchildren. Wib was born in 1914 in Melville, Sask., only son of Bertha and Clinton Head. In 1936 he married Evolda Johnson of Kamsack, Sask. After the Second World War, they settled in Winnipeg, Man. where he worked for many years as the Accountant for the Water Resources Branch of the Manitoba Government, was one of the founding members of Oxford United Church, and a member of the Assiniboia Concert Band. After retirement, they moved to White Rock, B.C. where he was a devoted member of White Rock First United Church and the Delta Concert Band, as well as being an ace snooker player. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 24 at 1:30 p.m. at First United Church, corner of Centre St. and Buena Vista, White Rock, with reception to follow in the church. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in Wibs name to the music organization of your choice.
