ELSIE MEYER Peacefully, in her sleep, on Monday, November 20, 2000, Elsie Meyer passed away at the Beausejour District Hospital. Mom was born on April 14, 1913, got married on June 6, 1936 and farmed in the Lydiatt district until 1975. They then retired and lived on a two acre lot on the corner of the original farm. During her active years, she was involved with the Agricultural Society, which she enjoyed very much. Mom was affectionately known to many as Auntie Elsie, and she welcomed everyone into her home with a cup of coffee and baking. Mom spent a lot of time on her yard and garden, which she enjoyed immensely. In her later years, she not only enjoyed her grandchildren, but her great grandchildren. Grandma also leaves many precious memories for her grandchildren and a legacy of love. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family; son Ron and wife Pauline of Ottawa, Bill and wife Kathy of Calgary and daughter-in-law Diana. Mom is also survived by her six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ernie in 1992 and her son Bob in 1999. The family would like to thank Dr. D. Corder and all the nurses at the Beausejour Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Beausejour with Pastor Michael Cone officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may view on Wednesday, November 22 until 8:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour and at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers if so desired, donations may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the Beausejour and District Hospital. SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATORIUM In care of arrangements. Phone 268-3510 or Manitoba Toll Free 1-877-776-2220.
