LEONIDAS JEAN-BAPTISTE LAGASSE 1917 - 2000 Peacefully, on Saturday, November 18, 2000, Leonidas, beloved husband of Annette (nee Proteau), passed away at the St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 83 years. Besides his beloved wife of 54 years, Leonidas leaves to mourn his passing his children, Dan (Jackie), Jackie and Carol; his grandchildren, Steve, Don, Jim (Rachelle), Christopher, Kevin and Ashley; his great-grandchild, Jaedra; brothers and sisters, Marie-Ange, Rolande, Edgar (Rachel), Eveline (Andre), Raymond (Alma), Richard (Mae), Roland (Lilliane), Johnny (Armelle), Donalda (Henri), Marcel (Diana) and Claudette. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, and many dear friends. Leonidas was predeceased by his three brothers, Denis, Osias, and Armand, and by his parents, Amedee and Rose-Anna Lagasse. Leonidas was enrolled with the Lake Superior Regiment and served overseas during the Second World War. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for the care and support given to Leonidas during his illness. Funeral services for Leonidas will be held at the St. Adolphe Roman Catholic Church in St. Adolphe, Manitoba on Thursday, November 23. Prayer service and viewing will begin at 6:30 p.m. Father Pierre Dumaine will celebrate the Mass of the Resurrection at 7:00 p.m. Private family interment will take place in the St. Adolphe Parish Cemetery the following day.
