Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAUDE JOHNSON (nee Hutchinson) Following a lengthy illness, on Tuesday, December 12, 2000, at the Lions Prairie Manor, Maude Johnson, a resident of the Lions Prairie Manor, widow of the late Victor A. Johnson, passed away at the age of 83 years. Maude was born on January 20, 1917, daughter of Louella and Peter Hutchinson, in Youngstown, Alta. Most of her earlier years were spent in Langruth, Man. In 1939 she married Victor Johnson and together they raised five sons. Maude was active in several community organizations throughout her life. In 1982 Maude and Vic retired to Portage la Prairie. Maude was a member of the W.I., Ladies Auxiliary and Royal Purple in Langruth and Herman Prior Senior Centre in Portage. She especially enjoyed her camping days at Big Point and Hollywood Beaches, family gatherings, gardening and canning. Predeceased by her husband Victor, twin sister Grace, brother Jimmy and sister Irene; she leaves to mourn her passing her five sons, Keith (Ruth), Victor (Marg), Earle (Melody), Leif (Marge), Lawrence (Becca) 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Saturday, December 16, at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Phyllis Thordarson. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date. The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to the staff at Lions Prairie Manor for their loving and compassionate care of our mother. Should friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Lions Prairie Manor Foundations Inc., 24 - 9th Street S.E., Portage la Prairie, Man., R1N 3V4. The Omega Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.
