KENNETH WALDIE SURMAN May 8, 1930 - November 21, 2000 Peacefully at the Grace Hospital, Ken passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Ken will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Muriel; daughter Linda (Alfred) sons, Blake (Gail) and Paul (Sharon) four grandchildren, Karen, Ross, Kevin and Lauren and his cousin Muriel. Ken was born in Calgary and moved to Winnipeg as a young boy. He graduated from Kelvin High School, then was employed by the Royal Bank for many years. Ken also worked for National Trust and the Province of Manitoba in the position of Comptroller for the Office of the Public Trustee. He retired from this position in 1992. Ken was an active member of St. Chads Anglican Church. He was a member of the Vestry and sang in the choir for many years. He was also a member of Scottish Rite and the Shrine. Cremation and interment have taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 27, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Chads Anglican Church (Assiniboia Christian Centre) with the Reverend Greg Clark officiating. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Mariette, Shirley, Catherine and Barb of the VON and Sandy of Home Care for their loving and compassionate care of Ken during his illness. In lieu of flowers and should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Man., R3C 2B7. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
