Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTHUR (ART) CLARENCE ARNOLD SCANLAN November 8, 1915 - November 21, 2000 Art Scanlan, dearly beloved husband of Irene for 59 years, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2000 at Deer Lodge Centre just after his 85th birthday. Besides his wife, he will be remembered fondly by his children, Maureen (Ken) Plews and Rick (Sandi) Scanlan and four grandchildren, Ian, Kyle, Margot Plews and Brent Scanlan. Art served overseas in the Second World War, with the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry, seeing service in Britain and Central Mediterranean Area. Art was a lifetime member of the Khartum Shrine Drum Corp. He was also a lifetime member of the Scottish Rite, Northern Light Prince Ruperts #1 Lodge and The North West Commercial Travellers Association of Canada. Art enjoyed curling and golfing as well as a wide variety of other sports. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Church (Anglican), 1735 Corydon Ave. After the service a luncheon will be served in the church hall. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. A special thanks to Terry for the compassion and care shown to Art. The family would also like to thank the staff of Tower 5 at the Deer Lodge Centre for the care extended to him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1155 Wilkes Ave., Winnipeg R3P 1B9 or Christ Church Memorial Fund, 1735 Corydon Ave., Winnipeg R3N 0K4 or Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, R3J 0L3 or a charity of choice.
