LOUISE ANN KILFOYLE After a short illness Louise Kilfoyle peacefully passed away on Monday, November 20, 2000. Predeceased by her husband Albert in 1941 she will be sadly missed by her children, Betty Irene Avery (Ralph) and William David Kilfoyle (Geraldine) grandchildren, Donna Kigin (Tom), Brian Avery (Katherine), Ross, Mark and David Kilfoyle and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Elizabeth Kigin and Will and Connor Avery, as well as nieces, nephews and dear friends. Louise was born March 27, 1910 in Canning Town, England. She was the youngest of four children of Joseph Arnold and Louise Ann Cazaubon. Following the death of her mother in 1913, she was brought to Canada by her grandparents and later raised by her aunt and uncle. At an early age she began working in their restaurants in the Grain Exchange Building and at Winnipeg Beach. Throughout her life she worked in the catering industry ending her working years at the Manitoba Clinic where she operated the staff cafeteria for 25 years. When Louise was brought to Canada, her three older brothers were placed in a boarding home. In the ensuing years she wrote and received the occasional letter from them but as time passed, contact with her brothers was lost. A highlight of her life occurred in 1983 when through the efforts of the Red Cross she found her one surviving brother, Sidney, in England and in August, 1983, had a wonderful reunion after a 70 year separation. Since then she had been able to contact and/or visit relatives from England, the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. Louise took great pleasure in her family, friends, and her work. During her retirement, her happiest days were living and enjoying the activities at the Villa Cabrini. The family wish to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Lions Manor Personal Care Centre for their support during her final days. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. If her friends so wish, a donation may be made to the Lions Manor Personal Care Centre, 320 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0G5, or to a charity of choice.
