ROBERT WILFRID TURNER After a lengthy struggle with cancer, Dad, 86 years of age, finally is at peace. Surrounded by his loving family, he passed away suddenly Tuesday, November 21, 2000. Left with wonderful memories of a very gentle man is his loving wife of 61 years, Kathleen ("Kaylo") daughter Karen (David Dunn) son Kim (Barbara), son Coulter (Elaine) daughter-in-law Janice (Turner) Campbell (Keith). Bob has now gone to join his youngest son Kent who predeceased him in July 1993. He is also survived by one sister Lillian Hibbert of Calgary, and was predeceased by one brother and two sisters. Also left to cherish his memory are his 11 grandchildren (Janice, Jamie, Kevin, Matthew, Paul, Steven, Leigh, Colleen, Ryan, Brett and Dustin). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild (who all helped to complete the five generation family). Bob was born August 26, 1914, in Fort William, Ont. He received his schooling in Winnipeg, where for many happy years he resided in the Minto Armoury. Bob was employed in a variety of interesting positions, including many years at Canada Packers. During wartime, he spent four years working in munitions plants in Nobel, Ont., and Nitro, Que. He served as a traffic manager, insuring the munitions arrived safely overseas. Bob was a man with broad interests. He had a particular passion for stamp and coin collecting, reading historical books, and for many years, beekeeping. He could fix anything and was always there to lend a hand to all. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 24, at 10:00 a.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to CancerCare Manitoba, ON109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Man., R3E 0V9. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
