PETER MIGNON Peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, 2000, at the Pine Falls Hospital, Peter Mignon of Traverse Bay, Man., passed away at the age of 71 years with his daughters at his side. He was predeceased by his mother, father, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon (Pete), Trish and Angela (John) and six grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Alise, Jenna, Jason and Tori; former wife and friend, Rubena; sister Terry and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Laurier, Man., on July 23, 1929, Peter spent his childhood years there until moving to Winnipeg as a youth. He owned and operated Keyway Construction Company for several years until moving to the Traverse Bay area, where he built and operated the S.P.A. Drive-Inn Restaurant and Birchwood Motor Hotel along with his family until his retirement in 1979. His happiest years were spent on his lakefront property at Traverse Bay where he lived out his passion for nature and Lake Winnipeg and building his final home. Peter resided in Pine Falls, Man., for his remaining years. Peter will be sadly missed by his family who will love him forever and remember him for the special father and man he was and the legacy of roads and buildings he has left behind. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Peters life will be held on Friday, November 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Notre Dame du Laus Roman Catholic Church, Powerview, Man., with Rev. Fr. Rene Chartier officiating. His family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Pine Falls nursing staff, doctors and home care for the excellent care and compassion shown to Peter and his family. Flowers are gratefully declined. A donation in memory of Peter may be sent to Sunnywood Manor Personal Care Home in Pine Falls.
