JOHN STACHOWICZ 1925 - 2000 After a courageous battle with cancer, John Stachowicz, husband of Julie Stachowicz passed away November 22, 2000 at Riverview Health Centre. John was predeceased by his first wife Katherine who passed away in 1998. Along with Julie, John leaves to mourn his son Kane, daughter-in-law Susan and his two grandchildren, Tyler and Chanin. He also leaves behind his brother Steve and three sisters, Carol, Vicki and Adel. The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to Dr. Leylek and Mr. Maksymiuk of CancerCare Manitoba as well as the staff at Riverview Health Centre who made John as comfortable as possible. They would also like to thank Elim Chapel for all their prayers. John worked for the City of Winnipeg Hydro up until his retirement when he and Katherine moved to Petersfield to enjoy all nature had to offer, moving back to the city when Kathys health made it necessary to do so. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, contributions can be made to the Manitoba Cancer Society, Riverview Health Centre or the charity of their choice. Dr. Marr, Dianne and Betty: Thank you for the compassion, care and warmth you extended to John and his family during his stay at Riverview. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., at Luxton Avenue with Pastor Dan Cooley officiating.
