ASTRID SVEISTRUP It is with deep sadness, after a brief illness, our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away. Mom was born on June 17, 1915 in Eriksdale, Manitoba. She worked for Alex and Dorie Malkoske for many years. Mom loved to crochet and knit while watching her many soap operas. Mom kept her children and grandchildren supplied with afghans and slippers which they all loved to receive. She also loved to play Bingo with her friends at Pioneer Manor. Mom is survived by one sister Mona; two sons, Karl (Jan), grandsons, Jody and Trevor (Barb) Aussie (Dianne), granddaughter Tiffany, step-grandchildren, Ronnie and Weezie; three daughters, Olive, grandson Darryl (Melody), great-granddaughter Jamie Leigh; Wendy (Jim), grandson Rob, step-grandchildren, Joey and Krissy, step great-grandchildren, Brandy and Ashlea, Jackie (John), grandsons, T.J. and Tyler, granddaughter Joanne and great-grandson Justen. Mom was predeceased by her husband Ingvar in 1971; grandson Scott in 1991; her parents; two brothers; three sisters; and a very dear friend and loving companion Joe. Thanks to Dr. Isaacs for all his care over the years, to Patsy Klyne and all the homecare workers, a big thank you. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 25, at 2:00 p.m. in the Grace Lutheran Church, Ashern with Rev. Donna J. Smalley officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Ashern Legion Hall. Interment will be at the Vogar Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or to a charity of ones choice. Please hold Mom in your arms and treasure her with care, Make up for all she suffered and all she had to bear.
