Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH ALBERT RYZ November 18, 1919 - November 22, 2000 It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Joe, aged 81 years, at the Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg, Man. Left to lovingly cherish his life are his beloved wife of 56 years, Jean; daughter Valerie; sons, Gerald (Donna), Vincent (Diane), James (Lynn) grandchildren, Shannon, Shawn (Debbie), Michael, Jason, Kristin, Andrew, Matthew, Ashley, Jennifer and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Christine and Ryan; sister Louise; brother Anthony (Margaret) as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Nykola and Anna; brothers, Lawrence and Stanley; sister Rose; son-in-law Donald and grandson Derek. Joe was born, raised and educated in Sifton, Man. He married Jean Yakielashek on April 23, 1944, and together they farmed and raised their family. In 1990 they retired and moved to Winnipeg. Always energetic and tireless, Joe gave freely of his time to family, friends and community. He was a devout member of the Catholic Church, active in the Sifton, Dauphin and Winnipeg Parishes. Prayers will be said on Monday evening, November 27, at 7:30 p.m., in Mary Mother Of The Church, 85 Kirkbridge Dr., Winnipeg, Man. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 28 at 10:30 a.m., also in the church with Rev. Fr. Carl Tarnopolski presiding. A private family interment will be held in the cemetery of Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. Our family would like to sincerely thank the dedicated staff at the Victoria General Hospital for their efforts. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Joes memory to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, Man.
