Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE PLETT 1934 - 2000 Our mother Rose Plett passed suddenly into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 22, 2000, after a long battle with scleroderma. She was born on January 3, 1934, to Abraham and Mary Friesen. At the time of her passing on November 22, she was living in Winnipeg. She leaves daughter Sharon; son Ted; grandchildren, Elton and Tara; brothers, Larry, Jim(Naomi), Albert (Eva) and sisters, Esther (Leonard) Plett and Alvina (Jim) MacGregor. Her husband Edgar predeceased her in September 1997. Mother was a Christian from her early youth. She and Edgar were married in 1951. She served as elementary school teacher, speech therapist, business accountant, investment manager and as an ordained pastor in the Calvary Temple Church of the Deaf. The debilitating disease of scleroderma led to her retirement in 1990. The disease caused the secondary condition of pulmonary hypertension, which largely restricted her to her home where she was attended to by a home care nurse and housekeepers. She used it as an opportunity to continue in prayer for her children, Union Gospel Mission and the Calvary Temple outreach to the deaf. Services will be held Monday, November 27, at Calvary Temple in Winnipeg, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will be Sunday, November 26, at Green Acres from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Loewen Funeral Chapel of Steinbach. 204-326-1351.
