Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILE VAN SCHEPDAEL Peacefully at the St. Claude Hospital on Thursday November 23, 2000, Mr. Emile Van Schepdael passed away at the age of 95 years. Born on April 30, 1905 in the town of Pamel, Province of Brabant, Belgium. Dad grew up on a farm. In his early twenties he started working as a trucker for a feed and fertilizer company, where he worked for several years. He married Josephine de Leener in 1932, and a few years later started his own feed and fertilizer business. During the war he served with the Red Cross. In 1955 he settled on a farm in Belmont, MB, (the place he loved the best). When he retired he moved to the town of Glenboro. When Mom became ill and had to be placed in a Care Home, Dad lived for a brief period in Treherne. For the past 9 years Dad resided in the Green Prairie Lodge, Rathwell, MB. He was predeceased by his wife Josephine in 1996; daughter Christiane in 1941; a grandson James Bennet in 1966; a daughter-in-law Cecile (Schamps) in 1985; his son-in-law Joe van de Bennet in 1991; three sisters, Mathilda, Bertha and Celestine; three brothers, Jean, Gerard and Gustaaf. He is survived by his two sons, Joe (Marie-Lou) of East Selkirk, MB and their children Michael, Lou-Ann and Danny, Steve and Lorretta of Belmont, MB and Steves children Robert, Anita, Mark, Donna, Joanne, Vivian, Virginia and Patricia, three daughters, Godelieve Bennet (Frank) of St. Claude and their children Jennifer, Linda, Joan, Debbie, Geoffrey and Alison, Emily van de Bennet of Lethbridge, Alberta her children Jeffrey, Gregory, Mark and Joe-Paul, Rita Dodds (Jack) of Brandon, MB their children Bradley and Amber and 19 great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his sisters, Eugenie and Jeanne of Belgium. Dad was a hard worker and a caring father, he loved his children and took great delight in his great-grandchildren. We will always miss you Dad. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Monday November 27 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Raymond Bremaud officiating. Interment to follow in the Glenboro Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends or family may send memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
