HELEN AGNES LOW (SINGER) With sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Helen, aged 80 years, on November 26, 2000. Mom is survived by her children Janice (Murray) Hovey, Sandy (Dorann), Rob (Marg) and Donna (Dave) Carter and her grandchildren, Ken, Trevor, Carolyn (Neil), Kimberley, Tracy, Ryan, Matthew, Erla, Michael and Terri. Mom is also survived by her brother, Dennis (Betty) Singer, and her many nieces and nephews. Mom is predeceased by her husband, George, parents Bill and Mary, and her brothers Doug and Bob. Mom was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on October 14, 1920 and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1923. They lived a short time in Laval, Quebec and then moved to Winnipeg. Mom and Dad married in 1941, and spent 58 happy years together in Winnipeg and Montreal. Mom was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Her knitting kept the family in sweaters and mitts, and she donated many afghans to the Childrens Hospital. Mom and Dad travelled extensively in their retirement and Mom especially enjoyed the family reunions and visits of the extended family and friends from across Canada and Scotland. Special thanks to the staff of GH4 of the Health Sciences Centre for their care and for making Moms last few days as comfortable as possible. Special thanks are extended to Lori and Raquel. A private gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, December 1. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made the the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian National Institute for the Blind, or a charity of your choice.
