MAURICE TESSIER Maurice Tessier, of St. Jean Baptiste, passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface General Hospital on Sunday, November 26, 2000 at the age of 76 years. He was predeceased by his son Richard in 1968, his parents Flavien and Agnes, and sisters Raymonde and Aline. Maurice is survived by his wife Jeannette (nee Henault) and children Gilbert (Patricia) of Edmonton, Alta., Paulette Saint (Bruce) of Ardmore, Alta.; and grand-children Marie, Daniel and Trevor Tessier; Stephane, Joanne, Robert and Jennifer Makarewiez, and Cody Saint. Born in St. Jean Baptiste on November 7, 1924, Maurice worked at Tessier Brothers Ltd. Hardware Store and Garage. During the war he served overseas in the Royal Canadian Navy. Upon returning from his tour of duty, he continued in the family business. Maurice went on to establish Tessier Heating & Conditioning. As an active member of the community he was involved in the Knights of Columbus, Royal Canadian Legion, and the Chamber of Commerce. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 30 at 2:00 p.m in the St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church. Viewing at the church beginning at 1:30 p.m. until mass.
