LIZABETH MAXWELL HART After a courageous battle with cancer, Liz passed away peacefully on November 28, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital surrounded by her loving family and special friends Murray and Debbie Moffatt. She will be sadly missed by her husband Doug; her parents, Gordon and Margaret Maxwell; her mother-in-law Pauline Hart; her sisters, Lynne Sokoloski (Errol), Lee Mohr (Peter), Lesley Leonhardt (Dave) Lorril Vielfaure (Andre) her sisters-in-law, Win Townsend (Ian) and family and Vickie-Lynne Charbonneau (Gerry) and family, her nieces and nephews, Kelly Courtney (Jon), Ashleigh, Jenna, Jessica, Jacqueline, Joel, Scott, Marc and Nicole; Dougs children, Trisia, Kimberley and Sean. Liz was born on June 8, 1962 in Winnipeg, the youngest of five girls. Her life always reflected to her family and friends a gentleness and forgiving spirit. Her love and generosity knew no bounds. She had a wonderful sense of humour, even during her most difficult times. Lizs life revolved around her family and it gave her great joy in spending quality time with each of her nieces and nephews. God graced her with a beautiful voice and some of her most cherished moments were of singing in the church choir and for family and friends. She loved spending her weekends and holidays at Falcon Lake with her family. Most recently, she found great joy in trucking "on the road" with Doug. God looked around His garden, and found an empty space. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, and lifted you to rest, Gods garden must be beautiful He only takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew that you were in pain, He knew the road was getting rough And the hills were too hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered, "Peace be thine" It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. Goodbye Liz We love you. Doug and the family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the church family at Rothesay Community Church and to the Care Ministry for all the love and support extended to Liz and Doug through the many care packages, cards, flowers and prayers. They would especially like to thank all the families who faithfully provided the wonderful meals for Liz and Doug over the past year. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the nurses on the Palliative Care Ward for the wonderful care they gave Liz during her brief stay as well as for all the support given to the family during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lizs memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
