JAKE DYCK Peacefully on November 27, 2000, surrounded by his family, Jake Dyck, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away at the age of 61. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Helene; daughter Rachel (Jared Niessen) son Grant (friend Colleen Fewster) twin grandsons, Nicholas and Adam; sisters, Emily (Alex Fast), Betty (John Wieler), Friedel (Kurt Guenther) sister-in-law Velma Dyck; brother David (Hildy), as well as many other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents William and Anna Dyck, infant sister Elenore and brother William Dyck. Jake loved the land and was a well respected farmer in the Niverville and St. Agathe areas for 45 years. He was highly regarded for his excellence in the poultry industry in which he was involved over a 40-year span. He loved his family and enjoyed any activity with them. Jake was known to be the "host with the most" and enjoyed making everyone feel at home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service in his honour will be held on Friday, December 1, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Mennonite Church (Notre Dame and Alverstone) in Winnipeg. Special thanks to Dr. Ruth Simkin, Dr. Ian Maxwell and the compassionate staff at Unit IV of the Victoria General Hospital.
