PEARL POLSON (nee MILLENCHUK) On Monday, November 27, 2000 Pearl Polson passed away at home with her family at her side. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Pearl is survived by her brother John Millenchuk and her sisters, Rose Lewandoski, Lena Norosky, Ann Soltys, Jean Roth and Marika (Derhak) MacDonald. She is also survived by her step daughter Lorraine Halchuk; son-in-law Donald; grandchildren, Pauline, Andrew, Peter, Marie and Alexander. Pearl was predeceased by her husband Lawrence; her parents, Prokop and Sophia and her brothers, Paul and Steve. Pearl was born on July 12, 1924 on the family farm near Sandy Lake, Man. Pearl moved to Winnipeg in 1949 and worked at the Sewing Factory. In 1959 she married Lawrence Polson. From then until they retired in 1972, Pearl and Lawrence owned and operated Transcona Meats. Pearl spent her retirement years looking after her lovely garden and home. Pearl was renowned for her cooking, baking and sewing skills. She loved to entertain and especially enjoyed sharing gourmet meals with her family and friends. Much appreciation is extended to Riverview Palliative Care Program. We thank Marlene, Ann, Alex and Dr. Parcia for their high quality of support and home care. Also we thank oncologist Dr. Maxwell, Linda Bull and staff at the Victoria Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy, Friday, December 1 at 7:00 p.m. (204) 338-0331. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. from the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, Sandy Lake with interment following in the parish cemetery with her family. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0V9. Raes Funeral Service of Shoal Lake are in care of arrangements (204) 759-2160.
