FRANCESCO (FRANK) ANANIA March 13, 1922 - November 28, 2000 Peacefully with his loving family by his side, our husband, papa, nonno, zio, brother and friend, Francesco Anania passed into eternal rest. Nonno leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years, Maria; his son Antonio (Maria) daughter Felicia (Carmelo) Mauro, daughter Cathy Rizzuto; his nine grandchildren, Lea, Frank, Mario, Sabrina, Giuseppe, Jennifer, Concetta, Christina and Francesco; his sister Antonia (Frank) Gallo; sisters-in-law, Angela Pingitore (Winnipeg), Veronica Pingitore (Uruguay) and Carolina Pingitore (Italy) and numerous nephews and nieces. Nonno was born in Amato, Italy, on March 13, 1922. He immigrated to Canada in 1950 and worked for the Canadian National railway for 31 years until his retirement in 1982. Nonno was very dedicated to his entire family and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was always a pillar of strength, someone to look up to with admiration and respect. He was always available to lend some insight and wisdom to all who asked. The word "no" was never in his vocabulary. God has chosen a wonderful soul to add to his angels in heaven. Viewing will be held on Saturday, December 2, at 1:00 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. also in the church with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding at the Eucharist. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St. Pallbearers will be Frank Anania, Mario Anania, Rick Salsa, Tony Gallo, Sam Pingitore and Mario Scerbo. Special thanks to Roanne Worsley (VON) for all her help and support and also a thank you to the staff at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit who helped us through this very difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit, in Nonnos memory, at 409 Tache, Room D1003, Winnipeg, Man., R2H 2A6. A Farewell In the arms of an Angel, The Lord took your hand. "A Farewell" to this world, Now welcomed to Heavens land. Given new wings of tenderness, Well able to amorously fly. Knowing you stand above me, We fight the tears inside. Long earned are your wings, Leaving this world far behind. None to illness or Struggle, To heavens gate you climbed. Safe and warm in those arms, Your memory will carry on. Inside the heart you breathe, Though your essence is gone. The Lord took you home, At rest in his light. A farewell to this world, In dedication to your life... As An Angel! We love you. Rest in Peace. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1501 Waverley Street 949-4860
