ERNEST (ERNIE) ELLIOTT Peacefully, on Wednesday, November 29, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Ernie Elliott age 85 years, husband of the late Doris Elliott, passed away. Ernie will be sadly missed by his sons, Vic of Burnaby, BC and Wayne (and wife Cindy) of Winnipeg, and his sister Nell (and husband Jack) Stoughton. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Tracy (and Tracys daughter Shayla), Rob and Angie (and Angies son Quade) plus his niece Cindy Davidson (Rob) nephew Jeff Stoughton (Sue), as well as other family and friends. Ernie loved to dance. His wife Doris was his favourite dance partner. Ernie has gone to join her, to dance together again - forever. Ernie worked for years in shipping and receiving for various companies including Rogers Fruit, H.L. Perry, and Domtar. He was a drummer who occasionally would fill in for a few numbers with special friends and bands. Despite the fact that Ernie had endured two major operations over 20 years ago to install two artificial hips, he never lost his love for music and dancing. He and Doris attended company Christmas parties, social functions, the legions, especially "the 60 Club", continuously following their favourite bands. He continued dancing even after his wifes death but never found another perfect partner. Special thanks to all the friends, people, shops and services that knew Ernie and wished him well during his brief stay in the hospital, especially the shops of Rossmere Shopping Center on Henderson Highway and the 210 Oakwood Gardens Social Club. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 2 at 12:00 noon at Kerrs Funeral Chapel, 120 Adelaide St. Viewing will be held one-half hour prior to service. The service will terminate in the Chapel. Kerrs Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, phone 943-6688. THE CHAPEL IN OLD MARKET SQUARE
