VERNA E. WALKER Verna Evangeline Walker, late of Westhaven Retirement Residence, formerly of 155 Aubrey Street, Winnipeg, passed away in Grace Hospital on November 26, 2000, age 92. Predeceased by parents, Aaron and Elizabeth Walker; sister Edith Valentine in childhood; brother Dr. W. Roy and wife Kathleen of Penticton, B.C. and niece Mary Walker, Terrace, B.C. Survived by two nephews, David of Terrace, B.C. and Michael (Joan) of Burnaby, B.C. Also survived by numerous great and great-great nephews and nieces. Her working years were spent in secretarial and nursing positions. A graduate of the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1933. She retired in 1973 from Medical Service Branch, Dept. of National Health, Winnipeg. At the request of the deceased there will be a graveside service only at Elmwood Cemetery, Winnipeg, on Friday, December 1 at 2:30 p.m. Flowers and cards respectfully declined.
