Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOUIS HORVATH It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle and friend, Louis Horvath on November 28, 2000 at the age of 89, at the Vita District Hospital, Vita, Manitoba. Louis was predeceased by his parents, John and Rose; brothers, Joseph, Gabe and Michael; sisters, Mary and Margaret and his wife Olga. He is survived by his sisters, Helen Zuppan, Piney, Manitoba, and Rose (Ted) Benton of London, Ontario; sister-in-law Anita Krupinski of Winnipeg; good friend John Byman; special friend Julia Carlson and many nieces and nephews. Louis was born in Hungary on April 28, 1911 and immigrated with his family to Canada the same year. They farmed near Menisino until 1934 when they moved to Winnipeg. Louis worked as an auto mechanic for a few years and in 1941, met and married Olga Sesiuk. Louis and Olga opened a garage business they operated for 21 years They retired and bought land in the Menisino district which they used as a summer retreat and farm. Louis loved to hunt and fish . He hosted many moose and deer hunts for family, friends and associates from his farm in Menisino, and continued this as long as he was able He was also proud of his farming abilities especially when he won a 7th place ribbon from the Royal Agricultural Fair for his alfalfa crop. After his wife died, he continued to live in the Menisino and Piney districts, after which he became a resident of the Vita Personal Care Home in April, 1999. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 4, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue, Winnipeg, with Rev. Deacon Gary McCallum officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be John Byman, John Horvath, Bill Horvath, Trevor Horvath, Clifford Eylk and John Tkachuk. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the charity of their choice. The family wish to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at the Vita Home and Hospital for their care and compassion shown Louis since his stay with them. God Bless you all.
