CHARLENE RAYE PATTLE After a courageous battle with cancer, Charlene Raye Pattle, beloved daughter of Marjorie and the late Raymond Pattle, with her family and close friends at her side, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2000 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Left to cherish her memory, are her mother Marjorie; her sister Sharron and brother-in-law Harvey Halabuza, as well as her precious nieces and nephews Corinne and Craig Engel and their son Taylor; Darrin and Jennifer Halabuza and their daughters Rhea and Darian Raye; Kathryn and Scott Frost. She was a very proud auntie and was always there to support them in all their endeavors. Also left to mourn are very dear relatives and close friends especially Linda, Doreen, Joanne and their families. Charlene was predeceased by her father Raymond, her uncle Doug Doern and cousin Ray Knisley. Charlene was born in Winnipeg on November 6, 1945. She grew up and attended school in East Kildonan. She worked for Human Resources Development of Canada until November 1997 and then transferred to Department of Education and Training, St. Boniface Branch where she made many special friends. Charlene loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas. She enjoyed playing and watching golf, dancing, music, and took great pride in her cars, and her special cat Ginger. Charlene was a giving and caring person who was always willing to lend an ear and a hand to all her family and friends. She will be remembered for her laugh, great sense of humour, her strong will and courage especially during her illness. A memorial service to celebrate Charlenes life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with Rev. Dr. Eleanor Geib officiating. Our heart felt thanks to all our family and friends and to all of Charlenes friends and coworkers for their support during her illness. Special thanks to Dr. Cooke, Linda and the Oncology Department, the Radiology Department, the staff on 5B, 2B, and especially Anne in Palliative Care at the St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlenes dear friends Doreen Hobson, Linda Jagassar, Joanne Laberge, Lorraine Lewko, May Kong and Audrey Barr. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, ON 109-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg MB, R3E 0V9, The Winnipeg, Humane Society, 5 Kent Road, Winnipeg MB, R2L 1X3 or a charity of ones choice. Im free. Dont grieve for me, for now Im free. Im following the path God laid for me. I could not stay another day To laugh or love or work or play. My lifes been full, Ive savoured much Good friends, good times, and loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seemed too brief, Dont lengthen it now with undue grief.
