CAROLINE KOSTENUIK Caroline Kostenuik, aged 94 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 30, 2000, at the Seven Oaks General Hospital after a long and fruitful life. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joe in 1996 and her son Frank Moulton in 1997. She will be fondly remembered by son Ron and his wife Jeannette, grandson Joe, sister Bernice, sister-in-law Katherine and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Caroline was born in the Polish village of Delejow, then part of the Austrian Empire, on April 10, 1906. She came to Canada with her parents in 1908 and lived in Medika, Winnipeg and Portage la Prairie as a child. During the 20s and 30s she lived in New York and Chatham, Ont., before moving back to Portage la Prairie where she met her husband Joe. They moved to Winnipeg in 1945 where she lived until her passing. Caroline will be long remembered for her devotion to family and friends to whom she was very generous with her attention, especially in times of need. Her cooking skills will long be remembered by the many people who ate at her table over the years. Prayers will be said on Sunday evening, December 3, at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Monday, December 4, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe and Donalda, Winnipeg, Man., with Rev. Fr. Greg Mulligan, OFM Cap. officiating. Interment at Hillside Cemetery, Portage la Prairie, Man. Special thanks to devoted friends, Ray and Emelie Brodowich; nieces, Catherine Wasserman and Elaine Magarrell and Moms good neighbour Anne Rempel.
