Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEANNE LUCY SHAW OSBORNE (nee ST. MARS) It is with great sadness, we announce the death of our beloved mother and grandmother on November 27, 2000. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband William Osborne; her mother and father and eight sisters and brothers. She will be lovingly missed by her son Brian Shaw and daughter Sarah Fine (husband Morty) grandchildren, Brenda, Miriam, Nyomi, David and Sean; brother Roger St. Mars; sister-in-law Marie St. Mars and many nieces and nephews including Lina and Harvey Wegner. "Nini" was born April 6, 1913 in Fort Garry and raised in Richer, Man. She graduated as a Practical Nurse from St. Roche Hospital in Winnipeg in 1931. By 1941, she was working for the Hudson Bay Company and married to John Hobson Shaw. They had two children and lived in Sault Ste-Marie, Kitchener, Toronto and Brandon. As well as working as a cosmetician, Jeanne enjoyed tennis and golf and excelled at curling and bowling. In 1967, divorced from John, she lived independently for many years in Montreal. As Vice President of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, she devoted numerous volunteer hours and enjoyed the friendship of many good people. In 1980 she married William Osborne. In 1990, she lived briefly in Winnipeg then moved to Toronto and St. Davids Village where she was helped by some special friends to continue her independent life until October 2000 when she returned "home" to Winnipeg. After a brief illness, mother passed away at 12:45 a.m., on November 27 at Central Park Lodge. Thanks to the 3rd floor staff for their loving kindness in her final days. A memorial service and reception will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 1755 Portage Ave. on December 9 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The giving of love is an education in itself. - Eleanor Roosevelt
