The memory of his uncomplaining nature and cheery smile will be cherished by his son Doug; daughter Dee Cyr (Bob) grandchildren, Darrell Roberts (Susan), David Roberts, Debbie Gursky (Glen), Randy Cyr, Damien Cyr; and great-grandchildren, Katie and Kevin Roberts, James and Noah Cyr, and his sweetie Jessica Gursky. Ted was predeceased by his wife Frances, and his daughter Sharon. Dad was born in England and while he was still a boy his family came to Canada in 1919. The family settled in Lac Du Bonnet in 1920. Over the years he was an avid fisherman and weve been told some great "fish" stories. Ted married Frances on Christmas Day in 1948. In 1952 they moved to Winnipeg where Dad began a 25 year career with the Liquor Commission. After his retirement he concentrated on his gardening and the yard at 454 Craig Street was an incredible work of art. Dad also loved to bake cookies and Randy and Damien loved "Grandpas Chicken Casserole". Many thanks to all of Dads amazing Home Care Workers, especially Kim, you made his last months comfortable and brightened his days. Thanks to Dr. Sharon Mould for her care and compassion and to the nursing staff on the 4th floor of the Grace Hospital - you were wonderful. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held Thursday, December 7 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the family home at 1:30 p.m. In honour of Dads memory donations may be made to the ALS Society of Manitoba, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3 or the Lupus Society of Manitoba, 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6.
