BARBARA ANN LAING (BRITTAIN) Peacefully, on the morning of November 30, 2000, Barbara passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 67 years with her granddaughter, Terri by her side. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 25 years and lifelong friend Gordon; daughter Wendy; son Gordon; grandchildren, Terri, Robert, Sherri, Gordie and Denise; great-grandchildren, Kelly and Bailey. Lifelong friends, Elva, Joan and Donna, who were always there for her. Dear friends, Doris and Elita, as well as many other friends and family. Barbara was born in Winnipeg on June 1, 1933 and grew up in Sturgeon Creek. She was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, St. James Branch #4.Barbara worked at Valour Road Curling Club for many years and developed many friendships. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 5 at 2:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel 1858 Portage Ave. When I Must Leave You. When I must leave you for a little while, Please do not grieve and shed wild tears, And hug your sorrow to you through the years. But start out bravely with a gallant smile; And for my sake and in my name, Live on and do all things the same. Feed not your loneliness on empty days, But fill each waking hour in useful ways; Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer, And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near; And never, never, be afraid to die For I am waiting for you in the sky.
