MINNIE STARDOM (1914 - 2000)
Date of Passing: Dec 02, 2000
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMINNIE STARDOM (1914 - 2000) Mom passed away peacefully the morning of December 2, 2000 at the age of 86. She was active and lively until the afternoon of November 30, when she experienced a massive stroke. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1989. She will be dearly missed by her children, Betty, Lillian (Reg), Richard (Karan), Don and Christine (Ian) and by her grandchildren, Karen (Marcus), Paula (Calvin), Keith, Peter (Andrea), Wendy (Joey), Jamie, Leah (Les), John (Holly), Murray, Stephanie and Sky. She has been blessed with nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is survived by her sister Stephanie (Jack) and her brothers, Clarence (Eileen), Romeo and Eugene (Alberta). Mom was born in Selkirk, MB and after her marriage spent many happy years raising her children in Seven Sisters Falls, MB. She lived most of her life without commonplace comforts and possessed a "common sense" wisdom and loving heart that allowed her to provide a nurturing environment and a sense of plenty in the midst of scarcity. When her children were grown, she moved to Winnipeg where she and her husband were caretakers of the Pamela Apartments. She continued to reside there and remained independent despite suffering a stroke and fractured hip. The family is grateful to her friends in the block who provided her with emotional and practical support. Death is not what she feared, but rather loss of independence, infirmity and most of all loss of the joy of living. Were happy for you, Baba. You lived your life fully, taking the best from each day and finding joy in countless small daily pleasures. We have loved you deeply and we let you know that often. We are filled not with regrets, but with a sense of profound gratitude for all that you did for us and gave to us during your lifetime. The gifts are countless, but the best was to be blessed by your presence and wrapped in your abundant love. Though we let you go from the physical world, you will always live in us and through us in all we do and say. Thank you for being our Mom, our Baba and the heart of our family for so many years. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Misericordia Hospital Foundation - "East Street Program", 99 Cornish Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1A2. In celebration of her life, a memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Neil Bardal Funeral Home (984 Portage-Aubrey Street Entrance). The family looks forward to meeting with her friends and relatives and sharing memories. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
