MARGARET (EFFIE) WILLIAMINA MASON March 21, 1917 - December 3, 2000 Mom passed away peacefully with family at her side early Sunday morning at the Grace Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Diane (Eddy) Heinrichs from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Pat (Ken) Arbuckle from Warren, MB, Jean (Ellis) Wheaton from Kelowna, BC, Willa (Peter) Fussey from Winnipeg and son Bob Mason from Warren; grandchildren, Sherrill, Christa, Alisa, Keitha, Nancy and Robert; four great-grandchildren, Brittainy, Melissa, Cody and Benjamin. She was predeceased by her husband Henry in 1984; mother Margaret in 1978; father William in 1953; brothers, Cecil in 1973 and Lloyd in 1988. She is survived by sisters-in-law Beulah Jones of Warren and Edith Mason of Flin Flon. Mom was born and raised in Warren, MB. After marrying Henry in 1939 they farmed in Meadows and Grosse Isle until moving to Warren in 1967. In 1976 they retired to Chilliwack, BC. In the spring of 1990, Mom moved back to the Lions Manor in Stonewall where she lived, until her recent move to Charleswood Care Centre. Mom was instrumental in founding the first 4-H Sewing Club in Grosse Isle, being a leader from 1958 to 1966. She was a member of the Gross Isle W.I. She enjoyed knitting and sewing for her family, playing cards and weekly Bingo. Mom maintained her sense of humour throughout her recent medical problems and always had a quick humourous response in any situation. Mom, you were always there for us, you will always be in our hearts. You were a great mom. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev. Cyril Borthistle will officiate, with a private family interment to follow at the Warren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of the arrangements.
