Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT TAGG CAMERON HARPER "BOB"VE4PZ Peacefully on December 2, 2000, at Deer Lodge Centre, Bob Harper passed away at the age of 76. He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie in 1994. Bob will be sadly missed by his daughter Linda Solar. Dad grew up in Weston, on Elgin Avenue, and attended Cecil Rhodes School. Before the war he worked at Weston Shops for the C.P.R. In 1943 he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served on many ships as a Telegrapher. He participated in the D. Day Invasion with the 29th Flotilla M.T.B., 462. He received an Honourable Discharge and returned to Winnipeg where he was employed by the Department of Transport until his retirement. Bob was an active member of the White Ensign Club and a member of the Rockwood Army and Navy. Linda extends thanks to the staff at Deer Lodge Centre, 6 West, and also to the staff of the Central Dialysis Unit at the Health Sciences Centre for their care shown. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, a donation may be made in Bobs name to the Kidney Foundation of Manitoba, 200-55 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3C 1L8. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Friends are asked to gather at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m. before proceeding to the graveside.
