LAWRENCE DANIEL KILDAW Lawrence passed away peacefully with his family by his side and to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 3, 2000 at the Concordia Hospital. Lawrence will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Patricia (nee Mitchell) son Daniel (Janice and granddaughter Melissa) daughter Lorna Asmus (Ron), daughter Linda, all of Winnipeg, daughter Karen Brown (Trevor and grandson Matthew) from Kamloops, BC; brother Leonard from Edmonton, AB; sister Helen Smith (Ed) of Moose Jaw, SK and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Lawrence was born at Medstead, SK on November 3, 1933 to Martin and Sophie Kildaw where he attended school in the area and in North Battleford. Lawrence moved to Winnipeg in 1952 where he attended Musker Engineering Institute. He married Patricia in 1957 and worked as a mechanic for Wilson Auto Electric and Standard Aero Engine. Lawrence obtained his Chartered Life Underwriter credentials and spent over 20 years with London Life until retirement. Lawrence had a great appreciation and vim for life. His hobbies included handy work, reading, golfing, gardening and travel. He was also a member of the Abundant Life Baptist Church. Through his love of God, his family and his friends, he will be forever in the hearts and memories of everyone he had touched during his life. A viewing will be held at the Transcona Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, December 5 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a memorial service held on Wednesday, December 6 at the Transcona Funeral Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with a reception to follow at the Abundant Life Baptist Church, 1036 Plessis. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kevin Grace and all of the nursing staff of the Concordia Hospital for their support and compassion during a time of need. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the memory of Lawrence at a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Transcona Funeral Chapel Ltd., 1800 Day St., 222-6677.
