ERNEST CHASTELLAINE Peacefully on December 4, 2000 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli, Ernest Chastellaine, aged 63 years, of Matlock, MB. He was predeceased by his parents, Orton and Mary-Ann and brothers, Oliver, Walter and Charlie. Ernest is survived by longtime friend Blanche Harper; stepchildren, Danny (Kim) and Clarice (Greg), Papa to Christie, Kayla, Megan and Tanner; sisters, Mary Ratte (Bill), May Chastellaine (Charles) brother Clarence (Marie) and many nieces and nephews. Ernest was born in Matlock on January 1, 1937 and was a commercial fisherman on Lake Winnipeg for many years. He also worked for the Village of Dunnottar. He enjoyed playing pool with Danny and his friends, playing bingo and sitting along the lake. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Rev. Ken Pawluk officiating. Viewing from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation will follow. Thanks to Dr. R.C. Patel and the nurses and staff at the Johnson Memorial Hospital. Special thanks to Joy Kelly and Donnie Anniuk.
