When I met Gertrude in 1988 in Lac du Bonnet, I asked her where she grew up. She said Listowel, Ontario. I said, so did I... where did you live? It was within a stone's throw where my family lived 1960 -63. Our house was on one side of the church.. her house (Presbyterian manse) on the other side of the church. I remember in her eighties, she would drive all of her 'younger' friends around, ... a real firecracker and delight to talk to. - Posted by: Kevin McMurren (Friend) on: Jan 22, 2023

I don't think I ever saw her after I was about four-and-a-half years old, but she sometimes sent out newsletters to miscellaneous relatives, and somehow her way of writing impressed me. - Posted by: Mike Hardy (great-nephew) on: Jan 21, 2022
