ARTHUR MATRICK Passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2000 at the Surrey Memorial Hospital. Arthur was predeceased by his soul mate and wife of 50 years, Edna. He is mourned by his daughter Laura and her son Chadley in Surrey, his son Arthur James, wife Susan and their son Evan Jones of Winnipeg. Arthur will be sadly missed by his brother Larry, his sister-in-law Jean and their children, his nieces and nephews in North Vancouver. He will also be missed by members of Ednas family and many friends. Born in Winnipeg in 1923, Arthur attended St. Johns High School where he met his one true love, Edna. They were married after the war and lived in Winnipeg where Arthur operated a successful Real Estate business. In 1988 they moved to British Columbia. Arthur had many interests including the pursuit of spiritual growth and a health conscious life style. He had an extensive library on these subjects and enjoyed sharing ideas about them with others. His interests also included following a lifestyle of simplicity and he advocated recycling and conservation of resources long before these ideas became popular. He took delight in outdoor activities and walks in Bear Creek Park. A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 2, 2000. Donations in Arthurs memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
