Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTHA ELINOR SACKRISON Peacefully, on December 5, 2000 our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home at the age of 96 years. Martha was born on December 2, 1904 in Umea, Sweden. A few years later the family immigrated to Canada, finally settling in Winnipeg in 1910. In the early 1920s she met Rudy Sackrison and on August 17, 1929 they married. Martha was a founding member of St. Marks Lutheran Church and she contributed to the church in a variety of areas over the years. She moved to Tuxedo Villa in 1990 and leaves behind, among the staff and residents, many dear friends. Left to mourn her deeply is her son Brian (Marion) brother Harry (Ruth) grandsons, Garth (Christine), Jason, Chris (Julie), David (Sandra), Geoff (Aline) and seven great-grandchildren, Alex, Samantha, Andrew, Trevor, Garnett, Taylor and Oliver. Martha was predeceased by her husband Rudy in 1983; her daughter Shirley in 1999 and by four brothers and two sisters. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 8 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue, entrance on Aubrey Street. A private family interment will be held on Saturday morning, December 9 followed by a memorial service, in celebration of her life, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marks Lutheran Church at 600 Cambridge St. (at Corydon). Flowers are gratefully declined.
