KANTA BAHL (SABHARWAL) Sadly on Wednesday, December 6, 2000, at the age of 62, and after a long and courageous battle, our dearest wife and mother passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side. Kanta was born in Mombasa, Kenya on May 21, 1938. She had an active life in Kenya and worked with Coast Girls High School. She married on December 10, 1960 and is survived by her loving husband Ved; daughter Reema; sons, Amit and Rajeev; brother Kanwar and Satinder (Kenya) Ravinder (London) sisters, Saroj and Sudesh Kholi (London) and numerous nephews, nieces and other family in Kenya, England, and Canada. With the family emigrating to Canada in 1969, Kanta devoted much of her time caring and lodging mentally challenged adults. It was this special gift that also gave Kanta the opportunity to enjoy day care at home for children. In addition to her family, Kanta loved and cherished and was loved and cherished by her many friends. We are forever grateful for all your support and love. Kantas loving smile, grace, and passion for life will live forever in the memory of all those who were in her presence. Her extraordinary courage and strength has left a deep appreciation by all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Special thanks to Dr. L.E. Brandes, nurses and staff at Cancer Treatment / Health Sciences Centre; staff at V.O.N.; and Dr. M.Garcia, nurses, and aides at Riverview Health Centre. Memorial services will be held on Friday December 8, at 3:00 p.m. at Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. As well, Shanti path (prayers) will be held on this day at the Hindu Temple, 854 Ellice Ave, at 8:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations can be made to Cancer Care Olivia Street.
