JEAN LESKIW (KOSTIUK) Peacefully on Tuesday December 5, 2000, at the Charleswood Care Centre with family at her side, Jean Leskiw, aged 70 years, of Winnipeg, Man. Born April 1, 1930, at Malonton, Jean had lived in Winnipeg for the past 40 years. She was predeceased by her husband Mykola (Nick) in August 2000; her parents John and Joanna; sister Emily Paleshnuik; brothers, Mike, Rudy, Walter, Louis and Robert and infant sister Jean. Surviving to mourn her loss, sisters, Mary Samos of Penticton, B.C., Kathleen Russell of Winnipeg, Caroline (Morris) Wozlowski of Prince Rupert, B.C., and Helen Turcan of Malonton; brothers, Joe Kostiuk of Malonton and Stanley (Judy) Kostiuk of Gimli; sisters-in-law, Ruth Kostiuk of Gimli, Ollie Kostiuk of Winnipeg and Zofiya Leskiw of Ternopil, Ukraine; numerous nieces and nephews. Prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, December 10, at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Komarno. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 11, at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Komarno. Rev. Fr. Mark Gnutel will officiate with interment to follow in St. Marys Cemetery Malonton. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Murray, Adrian Turcan and Tyler Zubriski. Active pallbearers will be Joe Turcan, Robert Turcan, Eugene Zubriski, Chris Kostuik, Frank Kostiuk and Walter Skazyk. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to all the nursing staff at the Charleswood Care Centre for their loving care of Auntie Jean for the short time she was there.
