ELIA DI DOMENICANTONIO 1926 - 2000 Peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2000 at his residence, Elia Di Domenicantonio passed away. Elia is survived by his loving wife Berarda; daughter Diana (Joe) Pimentel; son Robert (Kathy) daughter Lucia (Fernando) Pimentel; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michelle (Vince) Bucci, Nicole, Elliot, Amanda, Adam, Alexander and great-grandchild Brianna. Also surviving are one brother and two sisters in Italy, Alberino, Pierina, Josepina; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Domenico and Renata Menei and family of Winnipeg, numerous cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Gregorio and Armellia and numerous brother and sisters. Elia married Berarda on October 26, 1953. Together they made a home and started a family. In the 1960s Elia left his wife and 3 children in Italy to work in Germany for almost seven years, sacrificing time with his family so he could earn enough to bring them to Canada. The family immigrated to Canada in 1967, settled in Winnipeg, employed in the construction business for a number of years. Owned and Operated Parker Grocery Store, retiring in 1984, at age 60. He enjoyed his many trips home to Italy to visit friends and family. His passion in life was being with his family every Sunday and tending to his garden. Prayers will be said on Friday, December 8 at 8:30 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 9 at 10:00 a.m. also in the church with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano Presiding at the Eucharist. Pallbearers are his grandsons Elliot and Adam, nephews Jim , Luigi, Junior , Domenic and Tony. The family wishes to thank the Menei family and spouses, special thanks to Luigi for being there, Winnipeg Fire and Ambulance, 911 operators and the Grace General Hospital.
