BLAINE STEVENSON December 8, 1942 - December 6, 2000 Suddenly near Miami, Manitoba on Wednesday December 6, 2000, Mr. Blaine Stevenson of Somerset, Manitoba passed away at the age of 57 years. Blaine was a dedicated family man. He was actively involved in all sports both in coaching and as a fan with his children and grandchildren. Throughout his lifetime, he was a committed volunteer firefighter and Lions member. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping at Killarney. Blaine always lent a hand to everyone. His mechanic abilities were always sought after. Blaine leaves to mourn his wife Diane (nee Payette) of 35 years; a daughter Sharon (Don) Beer and son Ross (friend Leah) grandchildren, Darren, Stacey and Dustin Beer; sister, Jean (Don Prior) brothers, Elmer (Arlene), Don (Sylvia), Barry (Tannis) mother-in-law Elodie Payette; brothers-in-law, Emile (Zal), Ralph (Donalda), Celest (Donna), Gerald (Nicole), Wayne (Sandra), Alain (Cheryl) and sisters-in-law, JoAnn (David Evans) and Elaine (Randy Pierce) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Blaine was predeceased by his father Walter in 1964; his mother Henrietta in 1985; father-in-law Albert Payette in 1995 and by brothers-in-law, Norman in 1985 and Guy in 1975. Funeral Services will be held in the Miami Community Centre on Monday December 11, at 2 p.m. with Reverend Bob Gilbert officiating. Interment to follow in the Miami Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Blaines memory to the Lorne Memorial Hospital, Box 40, Swan Lake, MB R0G 2S0. Pallbearers are Larry Mansell, Allan Tosh and nephews, Raymond and David Millar, Mike Seddon and Brad Payette. Adams Funeral Home of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba in care of arrangements.
